Cleaning company insurance is something we found ourselves specialising in around the summer of 2012.

I had  arranged cleaning company insurance for a several clients throughout the UK in the 6 or 7 years prior, so had a firm understanding of the needs of a cleaning company in terms of their business insurance.

What to look out for when buying Cleaning Company Insurance

To this day it amazes me that there are Insurance policies out there that don’t include any of the above added extras, but cost around the same or more!

One of the major things to look for is whether the cover you are about to buy includes damage to property being worked upon – if a customer is going to make a claim against you it is likely to be because you damaged something whilst cleaning it, so this cover is essential, but very often not included.

Another great added extra is cover if you lose your customer’s keys – this can often mean they need to have the locks changed which can be costly if you work with commercial customers.  Again, very often excluded unless you’re buying specialist cover.
