Why Easter is EGGStra special for us

Easter is an EGG-stra special time for us (see what we did there?), because it was Easter time back in April 2012 that we started Evans Insurance.

Back then it was just Dan Evans on his own, starting from scratch with no customers but a passion to take better care of people and businesses who needed effective and reasonably priced Insurance.

Five years later, we’ve grown to a team of 7 (at the time of writing), with hundreds of happy customers all over the UK.

In the words of Dan himself, here’s just 5 of the many great things that have happened in the last 5 years…

Winning at the Havering Business Awards – when we won this award for ‘Best Small Business’ in 2015, that was a major turning point because all our hard work in the three years prior was recognised.  It also gave us all a massive confidence and morale boost, which has been a great motivator whilst keeping us on our toes to maintain (and exceed) our high standards.

Helping the next generation of professionals  – if it wasn’t for my employer seeing the potential in me and putting me through my Apprenticeship back in 2004, I’d never have got to where I am today. With that in mind, I’ve always tried to ‘give back’ – I’m really delighted that in the last five years we’ve managed to help several young school and college leavers start a career as apprentices at Evans Insurance.  We’ve had some real superstars who are a credit to the youth of today.

Trading Standards Approved – getting the ‘thumbs up’ from the Local Authority and Trading Standards was not easy, but in an industry where trust is everything, I felt it was important to show our customers they were in good hands, in the eyes of an independent third party such as Trading Standards.  The vetting process was intense but I am very proud to be part of the Buy With Confidence Scheme, as it shows our clients we care and also drives us to maintain our high standards.

Business Person of the Year  – winning ‘Business Person of the Year’ at the Havering Business Awards in October 2016 was a real honour.  We live in a time where there has never been more entrepreneurs popping up with fantastic business ideas and great customer service to match.  Winning this award was a major highlight for me and yet another boost in confidence, passion and enthusiasm to keep on making sure we get better and better.

Our loyal customers – this, above all else is what I am most proud of in our 5 years of being in business.  The vast majority of our clients stay with us year on year and have become more like part of the family! Not only that but many of them regularly refer their friends to us. We are really very grateful for our clients’ loyalty and for me, there’s no greater compliment.

In fact, as it’s our 5th Birthday this month, I would like to personally thank the 5 clients who we helped first in April 2012 and have been with us for the whole journey.
